Montage Detail

Along the Esplanade, old stone steps go down to a stony beach, patrolled by swans and strewn with driftwood washed in from the sea. Broughty Ferry was shaped by its position on the Tay. Traces of the old fishing village can still be seen, close to the lifeboat shed. The boat and crew no longer fling themselves down the ramp, but their services are often called for nonetheless. And although grand houses remain from the time of jute barons and Rolls Royces, the Ferry is these days surprisingly down to earth. All in all, one of the finest places to live on the east coast of Scotland.
