Montage Detail

Sir Walter Scott gazes on the New Town in glorious detail. This montage reflects the present existence of much of 18th century Edinburgh’s brave new world, dominated now by commerce and leisure. Financial institutions, ornate public houses and hotels offer places to work, rest and play. Gloomy skulls in the St Cuthberts churchyard warn that such early delights do not last forever. Look out for the golden behind, the extended pinkie and the dry but affectionate tribute on a bench at St Andrews Square.
